The National Agency against Trafficking in Persons (ANITP), as component part of the Ministry of Administration and Interior, is a specialized structure responsible for co-coordinating, evaluating and monitoring at national level the implementation of anti-trafficking and victims’ protection and assistance policies by public institutions.
The Agency also operates as a bridge between the trafficked victims and the law enforcement organizations as well as between authorities and the national NGOs providing services in this area.
The Agency cooperates with Romanian and foreign non-governmental and intergovernmental organizations in order to raise the public awareness on human trafficking and its consequences.
